Using itThe weekly timesheet

The weekly timesheet

Your timesheet shows one week at a time. The rail on the left is the week; the panel on the right is the day you’ve selected.

One week at a time. The rail carries the week total, each day, this week’s status breakdown and Submit week; the day panel carries the entries.

The week rail

Week total
Everything logged this week against your weekly target.
Day rows
Each day’s total and a bar showing it against 8 hours. Click one to open it.
Status breakdown
How much of the week is still draft, waiting on an approver, or approved.
Submit week
Sends every draft entry in the week. The button says how many hours that is.

Finding the right issue

The issue search does the work of remembering for you. Open it and the list is already in sections, before you type anything:

Assigned to you
The case almost every entry belongs to, so it comes first.
Recently logged
Issues you’ve logged against lately, whoever they’re assigned to — which is how you find the thing you were on yesterday when it’s somebody else’s ticket.
Everything else
The rest of what matches, once you start typing a key or a few words of the summary.

Timing instead of typing

Each day carries a Start alongside the composer, for work you’d rather capture as it happens. While a timer runs it sits at the top of the day and a pill in the header follows you around the app; stopping it produces an ordinary entry on that day. The whole of it is on Timing your work.

Time that is still being timed is not in your week total. It joins the total when the timer stops.

Editing and deleting

You can edit or delete any entry of your own that’s a draft, or one that came back rejected. Submitted entries can be recalled first. Approved entries are locked — ask an approver to reopen one.

The calendar view

The View switcher at the top of the page has two views, List and Calendar. They are the same entries — the calendar adds when to the list’s how long — so anything made in one is in the other and the totals never disagree. Settings → Timesheet opens in decides which one the timesheet lands in.

Draw on the grid
Press on an empty stretch of a day and drag to draw a block, then pick the issue. Blocks snap to 15 minutes.
Drag an issue in
The rail carries your recent and assigned issues. Drag one onto the grid and it’s logged where you drop it.
Move and resize
Drag a block to another time or another day; drag its bottom edge to change how long it took. A block’s colour is its status, and the rules above still hold — drafts and rejected entries move, submitted and approved ones are locked.
Unplaced
An entry logged without a clock time — from the list, an issue, a timer, or before the calendar existed — sits in a strip at the top of its day. Drag it onto the grid to give it one, or leave it there; it counts toward the day either way.
